I’ve been a proud Mobenzi employee for over four years, and what a journey it has been!
Prior to working here, I was searching for a company that encouraged growth, and one where I would be challenged to keep learning and adding to my skill set. Having ample learning opportunities was (and still is), very important to me, as was a working environment in which creative thinking and problem-solving was encouraged.
It turns out, Mobenzi encompasses all of this, and so much more.
My personal development has been encouraged from day one – I’ve experienced constant on-the-job learning and training, and my ambitions are welcomed. Since the company strives for continuous improvement, there have been many changes over the years and not only have these changes been exciting, they have contributed to my growth in a massive way. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I still learn something new every day.

As you can probably tell, personal development is vital to me and this has been nurtured at Mobenzi. However, of equal (and perhaps greater) importance is working for an organisation with a social impact. I have a passion for uplifting communities and I suppose I’ve always wanted to play some part in making the world a better place.
This may seem a bit cliche, but it is the truth.
Growing up I watched my parents and other family members go out of their way to not only help people, but to do so with respect and compassion. I’ve watched them spread goodness and positivity in so many different ways. This ignited a flame in me to want to be like that too. I believe that part of my journey as a person is understanding that I’m in the service of humanity. That’s why I’ve always pursued work in line with this sense of purpose, and it’s how I ended up at Mobenzi.

Working for an organisation that enables and promotes the social impact of many organisations has been incredible. The organisations we empower are varied in what they do, but they all contribute to society in a positive and meaningful way.
During my time at Mobenzi, I’ve been fortunate enough to interact with many fieldworkers and data management teams from a range of different countries. Through training them to use our platform I’ve learnt so much about the work they do and the challenges many communities face. These interactions have been invaluable – both personally and professionally. On a personal level, they’ve been welcome reminders of how many people there are in the world who work towards improving the lives of others, in different ways, every single day. On the days when the news headlines are only bad, remembering this helps keep me motivated. Our customers are doing wonderful work in different spheres: HIV and TB interventions, school feeding schemes and community health, to name a few. These are all rays of hope in a sometimes dark world.

Professionally, my interactions with our users have provided me with the opportunity to gain insight into their needs. This information gets shared with our product design team, ensuring our product meets our customers’ actual needs – something which is incredibly important to us.
No organisation is perfect, but Mobenzi has been the perfect place for me. I’ve grown so much over the past four years; it amazes me at times. Mobenzi has provided me with the ideal balance: enough room to combine my love for learning with my love for the upliftment of others. I’m excited to see how Mobenzi will continue to empower organisations and how this will result in more lives being changed for the better.
